Before Your Birth I Will:
- Meet with you 2 to 3 times in order to get acquainted and discuss your desires for the birth of your baby, and how you
and your partner believe I can be most helpful to you.
- Assist you in exploring birthing options and creating a "Birth Plan."
- Be available by phone 24 hours a day to address any questions or concerns you may have.
- Be on call from the moment I become your doula until you deliver.
- Arrange for you to have a back-up doula on the very unlikely chance that I am unable to attend your birth.
During Labor I Will:
- Join you as soon as you feel that you need me, either at your home or at the hospital, and remain with you through the
birth of your baby and for at least one hour postpartum.
- Provide practical suggestions for working with contractions and to help you relax, including emotional support, variations
in position, touch and massage, visual imagery, and other labor support techniques.
- Help your partner/spouse participate more fully in the experience by enhancing their ability to provide support.
- Ensure that your caregivers are aware of your birth plan, and that you get all the information you need to make educated
decisions about possible tests and procedures.
After Your Baby's Birth I Will:
- Help with initial breastfeeding, if necessary.
- Schedule a postpartum visit to discuss your birth and answer any questions you may have.
- Provide referrals to other caregives, such as postpartum doulas, lactation consultants, etc.
- Continue to be available by phone or e-mail, as needed.
Fees:
I provide my doula services, which include everything mentioned above, for a flat fee. This fee is not determined
by the length of your labor. The total fee is $300. (A $150 deposit is due
when you select me as your doula, and the remaining $150 is due at the postpartum visit.)
~If you would like support but cannot afford it, contact me and we can make special arrangements. My fees are negotiable,
and I will never turn you away because of inability to pay.
